Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Ghostcoin is built around a simple principle: the strongest privacy comes from not collecting data in the first place.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is and is not collected when you visit ghostcoin.com and use Ghostcoin products and services.
1. Overview
Ghostcoin, Ghost Protocol, and related applications are designed to minimize data collection by design. We do not run user accounts, do not require personal information, and do not maintain databases of user activity.
When data does not exist, it cannot be leaked, sold, disclosed, or misused.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or store:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or mailing addresses
- User accounts or login credentials
- Wallet balances or ownership records
- Transaction histories linked to identities
- Phantom Keys, secrets, or committed data
- Content committed or revealed through Ghost Protocol
- IP address logs tied to identifiable users
Ghostcoin does not operate a user database.
3. Blockchain Data
Ghostcoin operates on a public blockchain. Blockchain networks are inherently transparent at the protocol level.
What is publicly visible on-chain:
- Cryptographic commitments
- Nullifiers marking one-time reveals
- Standard blockchain metadata such as block numbers and timestamps
What is never stored on-chain:
- The contents of commitments
- Secrets or Phantom Keys
- Personal identity information
- Ownership records or balances
All sensitive data remains entirely under user control and exists only off-chain unless voluntarily revealed.
4. Website Analytics
We may use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand general site usage, such as page views and aggregate traffic volume.
These analytics:
- Are not tied to personal identity
- Are not used for tracking across sites
- Are not sold or shared with third parties
- Do not deanonymize users
If analytics are disabled, Ghostcoin services continue to function normally.
5. Cookies
Ghostcoin.com may use basic cookies or local storage strictly for functionality, such as remembering interface preferences.
We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking.
6. Third-Party Services
Some parts of the ecosystem may link to third-party services, such as blockchain explorers, wallet providers, or external documentation.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services. Please review their privacy policies separately.
7. Data Security
Because Ghostcoin does not store user secrets or personal data, there is no centralized trove of sensitive information to breach.
Users are solely responsible for securing their own Phantom Keys, wallets, and devices. Losing a Phantom Key results in permanent loss. This is a protocol property, not a service failure.
8. Legal Requests
Ghostcoin cannot provide data it does not have.
We do not maintain user records, identity mappings, or stored secrets. If compelled by legal request, the only information available is publicly accessible blockchain data.
9. Children's Privacy
Ghostcoin is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the ecosystem evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
